Healthcare Management Apprenticeships Long Term Care Nurse Management Apprenticeship WHAT: The Long Term Care (LTC) Nurse Management Apprenticeship is designed for Good Samaritan employees to provide enhanced training through on-line and self-study courses supported by mentors for on the job learning. Nurses who complete the training receive a nationally registered certificate of completion from the U.S. Department of Labor. Nurses may receive continuing education units for nurse license requirements. This apprenticeship incorporates the coursework which is done with mentor supported on-the-job learning. Either a local mentor or a co-hort mentor group provides support. AVAILABILITY: The apprenticeship is available to all Good Samaritan Society staff members who are LPNs or RNs in any of the following positions: charge nurse, infection control, MDS, staff development coordinator or QA Coordinator. REQUIRED COURSES: The training consists of three courses. These are:
The on-line courses are instructed by selected Good Samaritan Society nurses. Courses may be taken in any order. There is no time
limit for completion other than each of the on-line courses must be completed within the 10-week course period. The courses are repeated periodically.
