Healthcare Certificates and Course Clusters; Three Options

WHAT: These online program options offered by Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska are
an excellent option for a student who is earning hours toward an accelerated degree or the
B.A. in Health Sciences, as they will fulfill general education core requirements.
These options could also provide a great way to ease into taking college courses, for someone who is unsure of the path they'd like to take.

Option #1 -- Elder Care Certificate of Completion:  This program will build knowledge of elders and their care needs that will be valuable for anyone working in areas of medical administration or insurance. The program consists of a cluster of three courses that form the core to three different Certificates of Completion: Nursing Home, Assisted Living and Home/Hospice Care. This cluster was designed specifically as an emphasis for the B.A. in Health Sciences, but also can apply as elective credit or earning hours toward an accelerated degree.

Option #2 -- Voices in Healthcare Course Cluster: This course cluster is designed to inform and challenge students in their understanding of the diversity in healthcare options for consumers. Special emphasis includes the cultural, educational, environmental, and social factors impacting health. Students will investigate how these factors affect communication and education between healthcare consumers and their providers. The cluster is tailored for those interested in quality management, marketing, and/or administration in any medical setting.

Option #3 -- In Sickness and In Health Course Cluster: This cluster examines relevant topics in anatomy, illness, and injuries in the context of the Hippocratic philosophy or the lack thereof. Students will analyze the impact of germs on history and present day events in healthcare.

WHO / AVAILABLE AREA:  The online courses for these program options are available to anyone with internet access.

ENROLLMENT:  Enroll directly through Bellevue University.

COST:  Bellevue University sets tuition and fees.  Please contact the University to determine current costs. Bellevue does provide a book grant for Good Samaritan employees in healthcare related areas of study.  Please check with Bellevue.
